This is just an idea for my 50g tank. I've been trying to keep sps with a few small fish (to minimize nutrient issues).

But recently this idea pop in my head of doing a tank full of soft corals and populate it with a large number of small fish, such as damsels and wrasses.

The benefit is soft coral is easy to keep and do not mind dirty water, but their bland colors are balanced out by the large number of colorful fish.

It depends on what you enjoy most, fish or corals. I enjoy fish more, take a look at photosynthetic gorgonians and sponges for something interesting and easy to take care of, the purple sponge is deep rich purple and some of the gorgs come in purple and even light blue. There are green polyp leathers that can be pretty bright and some interesting mushrooms that are easy to care for as well.
