Will two diffrent types of macro algwa kill eachother

Hi,
I have irish moss macro algea, and dragons breath macro algea if you know what those types are, will they compete and kill eachother or will they be completely fine

I'm still relatively young in this profession, as compared to others, but I have not heard this will happen. My dragons breath lives with other macros no problem.

Different types of algae and corals will compete for nutrients and/or trace elements, and some may die out in the competition, but macroalgae do not typically overrun each other. I had caulerpa racemosa outcompete chaetomorpha over an extended period.

Microalgae can coat and even kill macroalgae if allowed to grow excessively on them. Iron dosing can sometimes help macroalgae willt aht battle.
