Hi,

I purchased a used light fixture that is intended to have dual t5 bulbs. The t5 end caps had been robbed to repair a different fixture. The ballast is in place (though only visible on the ends) as well as the wiring. On one end of the fixture there a two red wires and two blue wires. The other end has two yellow wires.

I have the yellow side figured out (probably). I understand basically how the wiring works but cannot tell which wire (same color) goes in the end cap (left or right insert of the cap). Does it matter? For instance, can either blue wire be inserted in either terminal of the same end cap?

I believe there is probably a diagram on the ballast but it is virtually impossible to be to it.

Thanks!!

Usually the wiring diagram is on the ballast. But it should look like this:

But without knowing the wiring diagram it will be hard to tell.

Thanks for helping.

Unfortunately, I cannot get to the ballast to look at the diagram without completely disassembling the fixture.

As long as the wires are the same color (red or blue) does it matter which terminal the wires are inserted into on each end of the end cap? Can the same color wires be swapped without a problem?

It’s a pain I can’t see the ballast diagram and it is a discontinued fixture.

Thanks!

It does matter as this is an AC circuit. Might be at risk for short or fire when done incorrectly. maybe if you post a pic, someone with a similar ballast can help.

Finally got enough disassembled to get a view of the ballast. I am surprised to see it seems to still be made. I can see the diagram now. Philips Advance Centium.
