Could you use a rubbermaid (20 gallon container) as a tank for a sump tank?

You mean for a sump but if not yes you can make a tank or a sump just about anything that holds water lol

Yup just make sure it's a clean fresh one. Might want to "cure" it Ita few weeks to be safe. I never trust walmart lol

Just fill it with saltwater with a powerhead and let it go for a few weeks. Not necessary but I personally would

Redfishbluefish taught me that alot of those plastics are sprayed with a coating that contains phosphates

So maybe put a liner on them... you ever thought about using actual sand, i am 3 hour away from the ocean. Any thoughts on that?

Wouldn't risk it. Too much pollution unless you're goona go diving way out for it and even then you risk parasites
