Well I was at a trivia night tonight and one of the questions was what is the worlds largest aquarium. The answer was something in orlando fl...anybody know if this is true or not?

I believe the main tank at the Georgia aquarium is the largest

I always thought it was that aquarium in spain...but i never knew how big the georgia aquarium was untill I just googled it! lol

but that also brings up the technicality on aquarium as 1 tank or aquarium as the whole building and all the tanks inside it...

To me aquarium means single tank. If it was more than one it would be a system.

but like u say the "georgia aquarium" which categorizes all of the tanks.

I too would agree on a single tank. I still can't believe I got it wrong!!!!

i dunno if they do or not...thats what i'm trying to figure out...basically i'm looking for both answers...

who has the biggest 1 tank water volume.
and
who has the most water volume in all tanks.
and
are either of these located in orlando and if so what is it? only thing I could think of is discovery cove?

i think the question is a little tricky though
there deffinately is no aquarium in orlando thats bigger then anything in the ga aquarium
but the tricky part is do they mean an aquarium like a fish tank or an "aquarium" like a public display which would mean the entire building
either way, i do believe the ga aquarium as a whole or the whale shark tank is the largest
i believe the largest before that was in japan

on wiki, it says that the shark tank is 6.3 million gallons

Georgia counts all tanks, marine and freshwater also has it listed over 8 million gallons.

The "Kuroshio Sea" holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world's second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters.

The Dubai aquarium has the largest viewing panel 269 ft X 72 feet.

I've been to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. I loved it ! This was before I was into reefing, just an amazing place though. I love that island.

The Atlantis Paradise Island aquarium is pretty unreal. Especially since you can sit down for dinner and it surrounds you.
There is also a slide that goes right through the tank!
Definitely pretty cool.

I wish I would have made it to the Okinawa aquarium when I lived in Tokyo. (I flew over to Oki a couple times for business)

I'm pretty sure the largest aquarium is in Spain, as in a single tank. Not sure about the mass volume of tanks combined, But the one in Spain I believe is close to 300 feet wide and 600 feet long. I could be wrong on this though.
