A friend of mine owns an aquarium maintenance company and one of his accounts is the home office of the local water reclamation. They have two massive native fish tanks, 1500 and 2700 gallons. Every Sunday he puts on his Wadders and goes scrubbing. That process just got a little easier with this siphon. 6" diameter 38" tall and uses a 1.5" drain hose. I think that qualifies for worlds largest but we need to check with Guinness.

The valve on top will hopefully control the speed of the drain. But with the size of these systems a fast draining siphion isn't much of a concern. I was hoping to go out and see this live in action today but the timing won't work. I've asked for some shots of the filter room and systems as well as a stock list. This system doesn't have a sump but a remote filter room. It was very interesting to visit. Like a behind the scence tour of a public aquarium.
