Can anyone tell me why my clown fish kinda lying on the bottom? I noticed this, this morning.. Thanks in advance....

Was this after a water change when you say fine that doesn't really help lol I would do a quick test just to be sure what size tank?

Lights were turned on about a lil over an hour and a half, fed them 1/2 hour after that...

Is her breathing really rapid? Honestly, I wouldnt worry too much. Probably just laying down..... Oorr hosting the corner of your tank. Clownfish do weird things, so dont stress too much

Im sure shes fine. Or is it a he??!! Haha... Probably just really tired from swimming all day!!
This might make you feel better- My LFS has a couple fish in one of their display tanks and no joke they lay on their sides/stomachs most the time im there but are completely healthy. You put in some food and they perk right up and go crazy for it. I think some fish can just be really lazy.

question, do both clowns seem to be the same size? reason i ask is if you have two males in the tank , the other clown may be attacking the other. i noticed this happen with my clowns, the one i thought was a female actually wound up being a male , and the dominant male started to pick on the other and he/she wound up dying. i would take a close look at multiple situations. also , do you have an anemone in the the tank? do you see the other clown coming up to him/her and doing a little dance / shimmy near it? all these may be signs to suggest they are not going to be a pair and that it may be teritorial. something to consider.

Normally if they do not have an anemone to host in or something simular, they will sleep on the bottom or float along the top. As long as once the lights come on and she begins moving around I would not be worried

I would do a water change, try to buff that ph up and knock that nitrate down.
Keep the lights out too if you can.

So, it's 3 pm now and she is still t the same spot,I tried a small feeding, she didn't really eat.. She has a mat, could it be that she is laying eggs? She has a mate

Is really fat and puffy? My pair lays eggs and she gets really fat and hangs out by herself all day when shes about to lay em

What do you mean by "mat"?

I think mat is making an area in the sand, smooth it out and level it out so she can lay and do her thang.

Look at her stomach. Itll be really out of proportion, like a pregnant woman haha. Im no expert in fish laying eggs but I have seen it once. Does she swim with her head towards the surface of the water in place sometimes?
