So....it was what it was supposed to be, a half time show. The good news is that they didn't let politics get into the game which I am personally thankful for. I do not care for any of the performers since it isn't the music I listen to but with all the angst leading up to it with some over the wall pleads asking them to put politics into the show from fellow musicians I have to say I enjoyed it for what it was.
People watch sports, movies, or other forms of media to escape reality. When said people want to put politics in the mix it turns people away. I apologize if I'm looking at this differently but the Super bowl isn't something I wanted to watch this year for fear of this. However, spending time with family who did and hosted a party made me get over it rather quickly.
Hats off to Gladys Knight's rendition of the National Anthem. I enjoyed it and thought she did a great job. Commercials - forget it. They played it safe with fear of social media backlash, digging up the past, and other forms of falsified injustice. There are many comics I don't really care for but when the fear of offending someone with a joke silent them all is when people need to take note maybe we have gone too far.
Edit: NFL legend commercial was my favorite.
