worth it ?

Ive come across a lady who is selling a recently ex husbands stuff he had a reef system which looked healthy via photos but shes selling his custom built leds. She only wants fourty bucks. Theyre programable and if nething i just wanna use them for night use. My question is. Is 40 bucks worth the gamble ? She knows little to nothing about them.
