Worth the upgrade?

Im working on a 25G IM lagoon tank I plan on stocking with mainly SPS.

23.6 inches long x 19.68 inches wide x 11.8 inches high.

I currently have 2 AI Prime 16 HD on the tank mounted 13" above the water. No corals in the tank yet.

Someone local is selling used gen 6 XR30s at a pretty good deal, for $400.

I'm wondering if it's worth buying one of these XR30s to replace the primes, or is it not necessary?

I don't have a par meter and have not tested the par I'd be getting on the primes for this setup. Pics of the tank scape for reference

If I was you I’d keep the lights you currently have and use that $400 on some coral….lol
Why is the person selling two lights for $400?
That’s a red flag for me.
Possibly something wrong with them and you have no idea. You could try and test them but they could have a problem only after they’ve been running for awhile. Unless he’s going to let you borrow them to test them, I would avoid them.
But that’s me because I know there’s a lot of shady people out there.

Your lights you have are proven to grow sps perfectly. I’d keep them and use the money for coral. But that’s me. If you have the funds then that does seem like a good deal though…. Lol

I would buy the lights and sell them on here for 600.00 :P

IMO from experience with AI. The primes are weak in power and the spread is terrible. I had 3 hydra 32 on a 55g tank and it was marginal for sps.
