Would a sailfin eat a mushroom??

Hi everyone,
A couple weeks ago I noticed a mushroom frag I had mounted to a small piece
of rubble had fallen off the rock I had it set on, and apparently had fallen off
the piece of rubble in the process. I looked for it in the tank but could not find it.
So that night I put out a piece of nori out for tang, and for the first time ever
he was uninterested in eating it. He still ate some flake food but would not touch
the nori. Gradually over the next couple days he became more and more intersested
in the nori till he returned to normal glutinous self. I was wondring if it was possible if when
the mushroom came loose, it floated around the tank and he decideed to eat it and
that is what could have put him off the nori for a while.

No he wouldn't have eaten it. Speaking from experience here that shroom is somewhere in your tank or even possibly in your sump. I find shrooms floating in my tank all the time.

I did notice an obstruction in my herbie overflow that night, thought it was snail but it probably was the shroom now that you point that out. I did look in the sump but did not see anything.... Could be stuck somewhere in plumbing I suppose . At least my tang is back to normal, at 10 plus years he is truly a family pet!

I wouldn't be surprised if you find in a few weeks attached somewhere growing well, that has happened to me multiple times.....

My sailfin never bothers my mushrooms, on a related note I had a st Thomas mushroom in one of my tanks and I panicked, and looked for days. One day he was on a rock in the back of the tank bigger and happy as can be. I think he was adjusting to the light so he crawled around and was in one of my coves of rock until he was ready to come out
