There are two pockets in my silicone on one side of my tank (pic below). The tank is 55 gal and only a year old. I noticed the top one when I first filled the tank, but the bottom one appeared in the last couple of weeks. I contacted the manufacturer last year about the top one and they didn't seem concerned, but now that the bottom one appeared I'm wondering if this is a cause for concern.

Anyone have experience with these? Should I be worried or are these harmless? Thanks!

I definitely hope I don’t jinx myself. But my 90g bowfront has been like this for at least 8 years

Woahhh, were they always there or are they increasing in numbers/size?? I guess if no leaks sprung from them in 8 years they can't be an urgent concern?

Can't tell 100% but the difference to note is OP's start from inside the tank. I would keep an eye out for growth or more patches showing up.

You can trace the outline with a marker to keep track for a few weeks or even longterm.

I wouldn't worry about it but what time frame are you talking about? I've seen silicone joints start to fail after 5, 10 and 20 years. On visible joints I have seen a noticable color change (I'm assuming as the light is refracted or reflected differently) when a joint is starting to fail. I was discussing this with a manager at a LFS and our gut feeling was about a 10% failure in glass tanks around the 20-25 year mark. But in 4 decades of keeping and building tanks, working in an LFS and 3 decades of having a mainteneance business I've only seen one catastrophic failure. The half dozen tanks or so I've known to have joints fail there was some warning and just developed "slow" leaks. If it gives you peace of mind take pics and compare them yearly.
