Here are some pics and this hammer is indeed a single head. Just wondering on your thoughts?

I don't think that hammers can be "grafted" like some other coral. It sure looks like it though. The color difference is interesting. I would attribute the difference to a parameter change and that as long as conditions are stable the entire thing will adopt the same coloration over time.

I don't think the definition matters..........it's very cool. I have a single head piece as well as a colony. I'm interested to see how new heads grow on the single head.

I believe it's a natural occurring species.

Here's the colony..........some heads are dominant green, dominant purple and some are half and half. It's about 5" across. I need to take some better pics of this.

I think you might be right very beautiful piece by the way!
