Not sure if there's any point any more in posting since Merkey, Adam and Bobby chimed in. But here goes:

Get some nudibranchs! Saltyunder ground is where I get mine, they totally clean them up! Takes a little while, but very effective!

Petition to stop calling them aptasia and start calling them brown torches.

Step 1: Change name
Step 2: Profit

What is the name of the purple torch with the green body? now have to get one when my tank gets old enough after showing the pictures to my wife.
You will be able to find this torch labeled under a few different names.

There is an aussie version called snake eyes.

There are a couple indo versions called black torch, dark torch or purple torch.

The green mouth on this one has gotten really green lol

I started a nano “euphyllia” garden but it’s mostly hammers, 2 frogspawn 1 Goni 1 anemone. I only have 1 torch and a booger frag. I bought it as 1 head but it came with 2 heads. The free head was splitting but half of it already rotted away and the other half was like a deflated shiny ballon. I think I saved it by dipping in coralrx and removing the decaying half.

Are there any fish that nip/snack on these?

All the usual coral eaters will also snack on torches...like trigger, parrot fish, etc.

Some angels will nip on them...we had a flame angel and it started to nip after about 6 months.

We had a butterfly who left he body alone for the most part but would nip the tips of the tenticles. He also ate a lot of meats :(

Our tangs every once in a while will also nip at the tips but I think they think it's food particles when I feed. The butterfly would just swim and snack on the tips.

Careful of clown as well as they will snuggle up in a torch colony and smother it to death.
