I’m almost ready to start adding wrasses to my 220 mixed reef. Want to know everyone’s favorites. If you could only pick 2 from each genus (paracheilinus, cirrhilabrus, halichoeres) which species would you choose? Share pics if you have them!

Only 2 from each?! But… there’s too many, too much colour too much personality…

I love my Pintail Wrasse, Exsquisite Wrasse, Melanarius Wrasse, 6 line Wrasse. Out of them all? Im torn between the Melanarius and Pintail, but the Pintail for some reason really grabs me.... That said if you want stunner, Xmas Wrasse is amazing.

Paracheilinus cyaneus
Paracheilinus angulatus
Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis
Cirrhilabrus exquisitus
Halichoeres chrysus
Halichoeres iridis

Sky's the limit version:
Paracheilinus hemitaeniatis
Paracheilinus alfiani
Cirrhilabrus earlei
Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis
Halichoeres iridis
Halichoeres lapillus
And why not...
Pseudojuloides edwardi
Pseudojuloides atavai
Macropharyngodon negrosensis
Macropharyngodon geoffroy
Anampses femininus
Anampses chrysocephalus
Pseudocheilinops ataenia x2

My tank is 220 and currently I have:
-2 clowns
-Banghai Cardinal
-Orange Firefish
-Midas blenny
-Starry blenny
-Purple Tang
-Powder Blue Tang

Next on list
-White Tail Kole Tang
-Watchman Goby
-Blue throat or Cross Hatch Trigger
-Possibly some chromis or anthias

If I add 5-6 wrasses, seems like my bio load is getting up there. I love wrasses but also don't want an overcrowded tank!

Bro, I know I said "this guy wrasse's" But honestly all of those are gorgeous, only not a fan of the psuedocheilinops ataenia. Beyond that. $

It might seem like a bioload thats large but just for perspective, my tank is a 125 currently housing:

Tomini Tang
Orange Shoulder Tang
Blue Powder Tang
Yellow Tang
Sailfin Tang
6 line Wrasse
pintail Wrasse
Melnarius Wrasse
Exsquisite Wrasse
Diamond Goby
Fire Flame Hawkfish
2x clowns
Lyretail Anthia
Velvet Blue Devil Fish
and a Luther Goby

Granted - Im feeding them 2 to 3x per day, and 1 sheet of nori per day... they're all juvies, but my skimmer is also oversized for my tank. Havent had any major concerns with Parameters to date.

Nice! Reef tank? I know my tank can handle it, just don't want the big fish to feel like they are running out of room in a few years when they are 3x the size. I've heard those 6 lines can be pretty aggressive? Any issues with the Flame Hawkfish?
