I know how tough it is to photograph fish, but the pics aren't super clear. Even with clear pics it isn't always possible to diagnose a disease visually....

Based on what I can see, it looks like an injury. However, you are in a better position to tell - does it seem to be erupting from under the scales or is it on top of the scales? If the latter, then likely an injury. On other other hand, if it looks like it is pushing up from underneath the scales, that would point to an internal infection, and those are difficult to impossible to treat.It was QTd from a reputable source.
