Hi - I have a blue thrasher wrasse that has been fine in the QT alone for nearly 2 months. No sign of disease, eating well, all normal. No treatment. Put it in the DT today, and 7 hours later, it has white areas and fin damage. I didn’t see any aggression from the other fish but was not home to observe. Any suggestions?

Picture is a little fuzzy but maybe new to the tank and got startled or chased and the white spots could be a result getting scraped up on the rock. Just a thought

I have two canary wrasses that had some pretty severe white spots on them and, coming fully quarantined from Dr Reef, I was slow to believe it was ich or another parasite. Turns out, it looks to be from scraping rocks/diving into the sand bed because they’ve both fully recovered and are doing well.

I don’t know much about other wrasses. But it’s a possibility with yours.

good luck!

hard to tell from the blurry pics but wrasse seem very prone to bacterial infections. Do you see exposed flesh (like missing scales?)

To me it looks a bit like a early bacterial infection - perhaps caused by a wind - or early uronema? any other history? (See second link in my signature)
