I'm in WV. I live about 2.5 (ish) hours from Cincinnati, Columbus, Lexington, and Louisville.

Rather than shop online in this cold weather, does anyone know of Saltwater stores for fish and invertebrates that would be worth the drive on a day trip?

I live in West Virginia about 2.5 hours from those places as well.
If you've never been to Inland Reef in Cross Lanes their selection is absolutely awful and they dont keep corals but if they have a fish you want their prices are the best.

Berts Pet center in Ashland has a pretty good selection although their prices are a little on the high side.

I agree that Discover Aquatics just south of Cincinnati is a good store. Its nothing fancy but I've been there several times and have liked it.

My absolutely favorite store is in Charlotte NC which is Nemos Reef. Its a little farther away than the stores in Ohio and Kentucky but its worth it in my opinion. Plus they have a website where you can see their current stock list and prices before you drive there.

Both Rivers to Reefs and Matt's in Columbus have pretty good selections.

Berts in Ashland has a decent selection but is higher priced. Pullman pets in Huntington I have never been to but does have saltwater.

Fish n stuff athens has an excellent FW selection and very good prices but extremely limited SW.

Also worth mentioning is Belpre aquarium though I haven't been there in years, they did have a nice sw selection though.

I'm in Huntington - Berts left a sour taste in my mouth. I love Pullman Pets at Pullman Square. I've been to Inland, as well.

My best friend lives in Charlotte. I'll definitely remember that one! Thanks!

I like going to Bert's to look - I won't buy from them though. Pullman is GREAT! I'll take at look at the ones in Columbus. Thanks!

I live in Charleston and have never been to Pullman Pets but I'll definitely go there next time my wife wants to go to Barboursville mall.
Ive only bought equipment from Berts and it was all MAP pricing so it was the same price as everywhere else. Ive looked at their livestock but the prices have always made me decide not to get anything.

There is also a store just north of Cincinnati called Aquarium Artisans that is pretty nice and worth stopping at if near that area.

I ordered Nori clip/veggie magnet on Amazon from Two Little Fishies for $20. At Berts it was $72.99

Discover Aquatics is my favorite. Aquarium Artisans is supposed to be a nice place. Matt's corals is very expensive, but it is a nice looking store. Aquatics Galore in Dayton is a very large store with lots of selection, although I have only been there once.

I am in no way justifying Berts prices because I agree theyre too high, but the algae clip you got for $20 on Amazon was probably the normal one and the picture is the "Mega" version which cost significantly more everywhere, although still shouldn't be $73 IMO.
