Good morning,

Whilst not being able to sleep last night my mind started working away and came up with this question,,
I have just started dosing my 130 litre reef tank that has a few small fish, 3" round fuzzy mushroom, 3" round GSP, small hammer and small montipora, all I dose is the alk as it seems to drop off quite quickly (I worked out about 4.8ml of red sea foundation B a day to keep it level. From reading it seems as a mixed reef the best level will be around 8-9dkh so I thought aim for the middle, I am now at a stable 8.5dKh. The dosing is set to 5ml over the 24hours period as it cant do 4.8 (Redsea reefdose4) every day, my question is how do I work this around my 10% water changes when my dKh on NSW is 10dKh? Should I;

- Lower the dkh on the new water and keep the dosing the same daily?
- Stop the dosing for a day or two to let it settle down?
- Leave it the same and not be too concerned as it is only 10% which is 1.5dKh more?
- Lower the does throughout the rest of the week to take up the slack? (Might be an issue as I think 5ml is the lowest I can set the reefdoser for a 24hours to do even adding)?

Sorry, one more,,,, I thought of whilst writing out the bit above,,,, When looking at Randys 2 part v Redsea foundation A and B they say Redsea has stronium, and a few other elements in them that Randy wont,,, is this a big deal or wouild regulaar water changes be enough to keep on top of those elements anyway?

As always, you guys are brilliant, I am learning loads here and appreciate everything.
Have a good weekend

What should you do? Stress less. lol

The water change will hardly move the alk. 90% of 8.5 dKH and 10% of 10 dKH will only move the alk to 8.65 dKH.

If that move still concerns you, the best bet is to use a salt mix that matches the tank more closely. :)
