Xanthurus Cream Angelfish Experience

Hi everyone,

Anyone have experience with the Xanthurus Cream Angelfish? There's very limited resources on its care and feeding. LA says it's easy, but i want firsthand experience on its care, would it easily accept prepared foods (pellets, mysis, nori, etc.), how aggressive it is towards other non-Apolemichthys angelfish, etc. The tank is an 8x2x2 FOWLR, so coral is a non-issue.

A little late on the response, but here goes....I just bought one of these from Petco about 2 months ago. He went through quarantine with a foxface, blue tang and a flame hawkfish. The flame did not make it. Since they all went through QT together, so they were all exposed together. Each probably brought their own parasite to the party. I saw signs of Brook on the Foxface, Ich on the angel and tang and Flukes on the tang (cloudy eye). Dosed Cupramine, Metro and Prazi at varying times. Now all are in DT and are happy and healthy. QT is always dicey for me and many dont make it. But in this case 3 of 4 isnt bad.

Now that QT is over the Cream Angel is doing great. Super easy. Loves Nori on a clip and Hikari pellets. I also feed LRS Herbivore, but he is not a fan. No tank aggression. I have a FOWLR tank also so I cant provide any feedback on corals.

I don’t know if this helps but Scott W. Michael’s book on Angelfish says it’s one of the best beginner Angels and is easily treated. I’m on the fence about whether to consider one myself, so would appreciate feedback. LA says they get to 8” but other places say 6” so I’d say 6” is probably max for most specimens.
