So I had a frag of pulsing xenia in my 10g tank that was eaten completely by a damsel. I woke up one morning and there was no flesh whatsoever left on the plug. Out of sheer laziness I have not removed the plug. A month later if an empty plug just sitting in the bottom of the tank I notice this. Dont know if you can see but there are tiny tiny heads growing in the super glue residue on the plug

That leaves me hopeful. Our sponge decorator crab decimated a large portion of the Xenia in our tank and i am hoping that some of it grows back!

Ask around. If you somehow manage to lose xenia, I'd bet someone nearby throws it out by the fistful once a month. I know I do. You can probably get gobs of it for free.

I have no idea why mine withered away in the first place— although I may have overdosed "Purple Up." But these two 'nubs' are growing back.
I decided to do an iodine dip with mine I do it with all my corals but for some reason the Xenia reacted badly and it all melted away within 2 days but it came back stronger then ever

Yeah, It was the only time i let my SO talk me into something in the fish store before I researched it, needless to say he told me he now understands why I always say no lol. He was just watching it for hours go through the tank taking out all the soft corals the night we got him. We now have a walking xenia ;Wacky
