Just spent about a hour going thur this pretty nice you definitely spent some time on the tank

Thank you. It is ever evolving. next up will be biopellets and LEDs.

Your tank looks sweet, how many clams do you have in there?

There were 6, but I came home to a dead maxima on Monday.

Here is a video clip of the tank.

I came home from a swap to a completely cyano covered dead Idaho Grape monti colony. Ripped that off the overflow. I moved some zoa rocks to my girlfriend's tank and it opened a lot of space on the sand. This lit me clean up the cluster of corals on the right side of the tank. I like the spread out look a lot more. I also grabbed some cool LE sps and some hard to find zoas (for WV atleast) at the swap as well.

Picked up;
Tyree Pink lemonade
Palmer's Blue milli mini colony
A few random acan frags
purple and green candy canes
Teal and blue tipped stag
red hornets
sunny d palys
toucan zoas
fruit loop zoas
True RPE
Peach daiquiri milli
Orange/Pink monti cap

Goodies won from raffles:
two containers of Tunze Putty
Magnetic probe holder from Geo Reefs
Huge zoa covered rock

I will be adding biopellets by the end of the weekend.

I got my Dr. Tim's Np Pearls in this morning. I am currently soaking the pellets in RO/DI water and will be putting them on my system tomorrow night. I am starting with a 20G dose for my 85G system volume. I will be increasing the dose by 20G every other week. Dr. Tim also included a 4oz bottle of Waste Away to help seed the pellets for free. I will be using this in small doses as well. My alk will be running at 7 dKH.

Any tips or suggestions?

Hey man, just went thru the whole thread, didnt ever see it on 3reef. Really nice! You will be super happy with the results of the bio-pellets. And adding them slowly is a good idea. If you are running any GFO, I would slowly phase it out after your pellets are in full swing. like 6-8 weeks.

One question: How do you keep the back glass so perfectly clean?

The blue vinyl background hides all the algae. The only time you can see it is if you look from a side pane or I move rocks a little bit. I dont run GFO but i plan on reintroducing carbon. I finally got y dkh down to 7.5. I hope this is low enough.

Thank you for the kind words.

Nice video and nice corals! :D

Thank you.

And an Update:

Got the biopellets hooked up and am using a Hanna Checker to make sure my Alk doesn't go above 7.7dKH. Just an fyi, they don't tumble if you only have a small layer in the reactor. Once I added another 1/4 cup they started tumbling.

I have also added a CO2 scrubber to help keep my pH up without any additives that would screw with alk and cal levels. So far it is working extremely well.

I put two of my chalices on putty pancakes and the growth rate of them has increased exponentially. I currently have 11 new eyes growing in roughly 2 weeks.

I finally got a smart phone a few weeks ago. The camera on the phone is much better than my actual camera. So, after rooting and fiddling around with ROMs, I took some photos.
