What’s the advantage of using blade lights with the ecotech xr30 then just using the xr30 by its self?

Provides more coverage and add fill light which reduces shadowing. You can theoretically do this by adding more XR30s but using a combination of Radions and Blades is more economical.
Would you run the blades on just the front of the tank? Also would I use the glow or grow blades?

Depends on the depth of your tank. The most common setup is to run the XR30 in the middle and have AI Blades in the front and back at an angle. The large online retailers sell rails/mounting specifically for this purpose. The reefing 3D printing shops also sell mounts for this purpose as well.

If you had to choose one side, I would run the AI Blades at the front and at a slight angle downward if possible. I had both the AI Blade Glow and Grow. If I could only add one to an XR30 setup as supplement it would definitely be the Grow. If I could add two it would be two Grow but that is because I like to run full spectrum for at least half the day then shift to heavier boys at night. The one Grow (front) and one Glow (back) would also be super nice.
