Will a yellow assessor and an Orchid dottyback get along together in a 30 gallon tank with lots of rock work. Orchid dottyback is already in the tank and looking to add the assessor. Thanks

I would advise against it in a 30g. If the assessor were in the tank first, the orchid could be added after, but it is less likely to work vice-versa.

Assessors hide at first, but after a few months become very bold.

Assessor first might work, but with the fridmani already established the assessor most likely will not settle in to a 30 gal.

When unsettled assessors will jump a lot, either riding the carpet or getting injured from hitting things. They will also hide constantly and not eat.

Maybe you could give the orchid a timeout in the sump for a month?

Fwiw assessors are my favorite fish, and I would much rather have them than the orchid dotty.
