Yellow bubble tip

I bought this beautiful anemone yesterday, but after reading online, it seems yellow bubble tips are rare. Could this have been dyed? How do I know? I attached a photo of what it looked like in the store. He's at home slowly coming out of the rock I bought him on.

That's not yellow. That's tan. Yellow BTAs are bright canary yellow.

A lot of times yellow morphs are due to a change in lighting and may only be temporary. Some Colorado Sunbursts have morphed into a yellow color under Kessil lighting.

It looked bright yellow in the store, but more green at home. I was hoping for yellow, I have enough green in my tank haha

But it does have a red foot like your photo. My other anemones have a foot to match their tops. This guy is about 6 inches across and my clowns hosted it as soon as I put it in my tank.... Bonus!

The bright yellow photo was taken in the store, the other photo looks green, its how it looks in my tank 24 hrs after I bought it.

The foot was red, I seen it when they attempted to remove it off the rock. The rock was so big, I didn't want to add it to my tank but after 30 min of trying to get it to release, I told them to leave it be. I didbt want to damage it or stress it too much. I now hope it moves home so I can remove the rock. My tank has more than enough live rock lol

I have a tan anemone, this was definitely yellow lol but maybe it was their lighting. I guess itbouhg8i found something different as I have green red and tan already

Which photo are you referring to? The purple or yellow? In my tank with no blue lights it's still purple and green, it's never been yellow under any lighting I choose like it was in the store. After I acclimatised it, it went bright green with mostly purple tenticles. The store had white lights only, apart from their coral tanks. This guy was in with the clowns. Do you mean that my blue lighting changed its permanent colour? That's quite impressive if that's the case!

So the yellow would still have a green base. I'm just shocked how it turned green avd purple from the tan/yellow colour.

Basically the blue brings out the flourecent greens in it to put it simply. Put an example of how blues bring out the other colors

I still see brown/tan in the original photo. I think our definition of yellow is a bit different. My definition of a yellow BTA doesn't have any brown, and the yellow is more like a tennis ball or traffic sign.

On a side note, true lemon drops are believed to be a thing of the past. A lot of the yellow BTAs these days are actually the yellow morph of a Chicago Sunburst (ChSB). Those have the green base. Colorado Sunburst (CSB) anemones also appear to be yellow under blue light:

Even that photo about looks like a CSB to me. True lemon drops were almost completely yellow then into green, without much orange.

Regardless, I'm glad to see yours colored up for you. The colors look a lot nicer than how it started!

I understand how blue light changes the color of anything in the tank. I was just saying that even with white light, it never looked the yellow color like in the store. It changed its color in my tank, never changes no matter what lights I use, just becomes more luminescent under blues. It was definitely not yellow like what you all have posted, but it was yellow enough to me that I thought would look different in my tank. I ended up with another green one. I have 3 now lol bit of a disappointment was all.
