Yellow Finger Gorgonian Help

I've had this Yellow Finger Gorgonian for a few months now but recently I've noticed some of the yellow flesh receding from the base which I have to assume is not good. How can I salvage it? Is it possible to trim at the flesh and then have 2 branches that will hopefully take hold?

You could indeed make 2 separate frags.
It's my experience that this Gorgonian appreciates mod flow and routine direct feedings.

Thanks! Yea I've adjusted the wave maker to give it a bit more direct but alternating flow as well and I've increased direct feedings with reef roids. If I do frag it, any recommendations on how best to do that?

I’d first focus on why the tissue is receding rather than fragging immediately. Check flow, lighting, water quality and make sure the base isn’t being irritated or buried in sand. If the tissue loss continues, you can carefully cut healthy branches above the affected area and attach them to rubble or a frag plug. Keep good flow around the cuttings and watch for further recession.
