Yellow lyretail anthias

My male is really gone from yellow to purple. Does this mean he is about to breed and die? Looking for life cycle information on him.

No. The males are purple. Females are yellow. The largest, most dominant female will transition into a male, as they are hermaphroditic. That's what's happening.
