Yellow Sand Anemone??

Anyone know anything about this? It is listed as Yellow Sand Anemone (Gyrostoma helianthus)

Dont have a link or picture. It is listed on a purchase list that is available and I am trying to figure out what it is.

Most likely it is a dyed yellow sebea anemone.

So I spoke with the supplier. He assured me it is not a dyed sebea. It is a different genus. He has had a few of them. Bright yellow and hold their color well. Looks like I will be getting one...

Also that Latin name doesnt coincide with any anemones i have heard of.

this is the only yellow anemone i have ever seen and its from japan and not common to come across

So...I googled the scientific name you have up there, and it is amazing how there are VERY few pics of this anemone. The best pic I see is in a link I found to a French article. LOL I would post the pic here, but it looks copyrighted, so I'll just post the link: Gyrostoma helianthus If your French is better than mine, maybe you can learn something about them. LOL

Guys those french pictures are bleached sebea anemones or Malu.

Heteractis malu or heteractis crispa, helanthius is no longer used to describe any hosting anemones. the only anemone that it really is used for is the atlantic carpet anemone.

the site says coming soon... I'll just keep looking back from time to time...

Then again the last two they had sold for around a grand. Hmmmmmmmmmm maybe it is not for me.. LOL

By the way, Halcurias anemones are colder water anemones, typically 70F at the highest.

That would not be a problem.. I have 5 different tanks laying around the house.. I could even get my pico rolling with high water change over and low movement. But the price is what is driving me away from it.

Right now I have a 30gal, 25 long, 10 gal in the home. One is already set up and being used as a cold water tank.

Too bad if it is dyed. Just as well, since it would need a chiller anyway.
