My yellow tang is doing something I've never seen before.. He is digging a hole on my sand bed.. Is this normal for them.?
I have a 4 inch deep Sand bed..

Depending on how he is doing that, it could be a parasite, is he also trying to scratch himself on rocks, or just digging for gold?

mine will do something similar if there is food on the ground to eat will flap fins for it to go up into the watter. But never making a hole.

My purple tang did the same thing in the back of my tank behind the live rock. But it was more like a bed kinda look more than a hole, made me think of when a dog walks in a circle until he has his spot just right.

Gotcha, that's nothing to worry about, the fish think they can do anything they want with the sand, my fairy wrasse buried my scoly the other day, no big deal :)
