Hello! First time posting here. I have had my reef up for 3 months. Slowly adding livestock. My last addition was a yellow tang that I have had for 1month exactly. He came in a bit skinny but has since acclimated to most foods and is eating garlic marine algae 1x a day. He scratched himself on the rocks a bit for the first 2 days but not after. I noticed his fins looked a bit tattered yesterday but today they are worse. All tank parameters are fine and the biggest bully I have is a Midas blenny! Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Sorry, Your yellow tang is really skinny. When they get this thin, they utilize their liver for food energy, and then, they can’t really come back from the liver damage.
The fin damage could actually be from a nutritional deficiency also.
The only chance I see is to feed it more meaty foods, like mysids, pellets, etc., multiple times a day. Skip the algae for now, it needs fats and protein.

Yes - multiple small feedings per day is best....4x at least. Just don’t let uneaten food foul the tank.
