Is the tank cycled? What else do you want in your display tank?

Depending on the species, the order that fish are added is important. As a generalization, the most aggressive fish should be added last.

I have 2 clowns a watchman and scooter blenny now in a different tank I’m gonna combine the two plan on a yellow tang chromis and maybe a filefish and another tang or something of that sort possibly a fox face rabbit fish if it’s possible

I have 2 clowns a watchman and scooter blenny now in a different tank I’m gonna combine the two plan on a yellow tang chromis and maybe a filefish and another tang or something of that sort possibly a fox face rabbit fish if it’s possible

I would not include a Rabbit Fish in a 75G tank. They grow to 9” long.

I should add that Blue Tangs get to be 12” long. When Hippo Tang started bullying Yellow Tang, I rehomed him after 5 years.

Yes. I kept a yellow tang in a 4 foot 70 gallon tank for over a decade. Get a captive raised one. That should probably be the only tang in a tank that size IMO.

Here is my thought. No two fish are the same. Have two yellows got them at 2-2.5” twins. After a year one is about 3-3.5” the other is 4-4.5”. What gives? Possible male vs female. Have a purple that is 5-5.5”, it was 2.75” when I got it…. I got a gem tang well after my purple at 3”. It’s about .5” at most from being as big as the purple. Fish do their thing when growing, and yes male female makes a difference to. What they eat, how stressful they are in the tank they are in, and on and on. Fact is keep an eye on the fish as it grows. And if need be rehome or get a bigger tank.

Again no two fish are the same, and some do get large. We are already keeping them in glass cages. Why mess with fish when we should be giving them the best we can, and be considerate of their little lives. One of my pet peeves is ramora fish. There are some fish that should be off limits for some people. It’s a darn good thing to be ethical and not selfish.

Toward other Tangs, yes. It depends on individual fish and the order in which they are introduced. In my experience with Tangs, it is best to introduce all tangs at the same time.

They will be aggressive towards other zebrasoma possibly. Had to get rid of one purple. The one I mentioned in the post above came with another by accident from live aquaria June 2025. It decided being the medium fish of my 5 zebrasoma’s that It wanted to murder my yellow. So I sold it to a buddy of mine. Still has it, and he has two yellows that he doesn’t care to fight with any longer haha. A change of tanks got him feeling different I guess.

Two yellows is pretty risky IME. Even two baby biota yellows would be a risk. I've found fish behaviour changes dramatically after a several years in a tank. I have tangs that have been in for 5+, 9 and 10 years and they are not the same fish they were when they were young.
I ran two wild yellows through QT together with a tank divider and they ignored each other but a week after adding them to the DT I had to remove one or it would have been killed. I'm sure baby yellows would be fine for a while but in a few years all bets are off. I keep 1 wild and 3 biota yellows in a 330g that get along fine. The wild was the aggressor of the two I had together in QT and it swims around with the other 3 but 2 was no go.
I keep a yellow and a two spot bristletooth together. They were in a 36x22x22" for two years and I recently moved them into a 48x22x22" and they're doing great.
