My LFS is selling yellow tangs for $510. Will the price ever go down

$150 for captive bred so.... unless you absolutely need a wild one...

Also hawaii could re-open. Not saying it will or it won't but things have closed for collection before and re-opened.

Tell them they're nutts. No way in hell does a boring yellow tang cost more than an Achilles

Yes it will. Supply will even out with demand in due time as always happens in capital markets :)
Just be patient. I wanted some yellow in my tank and wasn't willing to pay that for a yellow tang so I added a foxface.

As folks have already noted, the early ‘speculative’ prices have already started to come down as supply and demand recalibrate. Can take a while for some places to catch up, or places that hope their customers haven’t caught up. Always a bad idea to pay speculative pricing ..... for anything.
