Art and reefing goes together quite well, because reefing is a form of art. Whether you have a nano cube, a coral only tank, or a giant ecosystem with a beautiful aquascape... all of that can be referred to as art (because it is beautiful).

So please post your recent artwork here, so others can take ideas and do their own artwork too (unless you don't want them - so please post Don't Copy under your picture so they know :) )

Your artwork can be anything you want! A car decal, an interesting rock formation in your tank, hand drawn, acrylic/oil, photography... your choice ! :D

(alright I'll start off)

I was practicing the cross-hatching method recently and ended up with this ::
2018-08-03-15-22-00-535.jpg that is 1st sketch
2018-08-06-11-17-01-358.jpg Sketched out background
2018-08-06-15-20-52-315.jpg Some shading, and identified light-source to the right of my balloon
2018-08-06-22-56-59-891.jpg Final image... not bad for first try :) (any suggestions for a tune up on this pic?)

NOW ... it is your turn!

Very nice :)

They say talent skips a generation. My mother paints, I have several of her pieces adorning my walls. My daughter runs a mural business, and does some excellent work. Me? I can't draw a straight line with a ruler.

Since you're showing a pencil drawing, here's one from my daughter, a few years back.

Do any reefing related art?

Here's the shelf surrounding my tank, painted by my daughter, covered in 1/4" of two part epoxy for durability.

Thats awesome!

No I didn't do anything reef-related. Maybe once I get oil paints, I'll do an angelfish composition... It is hard to paint reef with acrylic. The colors are too harsh, I need the soft paints...
