I did collect the Star Trek stuff when it came out. The toys were all mine originally and not collected.

If you have stuff like this remember to change the batteries.

I really wish I would have had the foresight to keep the first GI Joe's when they hit the market, and Matchbox sets from the '60 and up...argh.

I had the Cox dune buggy and several of the planes. None survived.
I don’t think many survived. Guess that’s why the ask so much for NIB ones. I think I have one airplane in pieces in the attic but that’s it. I had the Pinto and a friend had the Vega and another friend had the Eliminator II dragster. The Vega met a concrete step half way down the track, it exploded like a real funny car hitting a brick wall.

That looks like work to me. Work gives me a rash now.
It’s actually saved me from a lot of physical work as my body doesn’t work very well anymore. We’ve sold off most of our property so now it’s mostly used to move stuff around the yard, till my wife’s veg garden and ride my grandson around the yard.

We moved from somewhere I could use a tractor to a neighborhood where my 50 inch mower is extreme overkill. It has a bagger and I can do the whole yard now and only fill it once.

My mom was kind enough to take care of all my stuff while I was stationed in Germany.

Matchbox collection, HO cars and a ton of track, A complete collection of Hardy Boys books, even my stamp collection!

It all went into a big box and was sold at her garage sale for $5. Somebody cleaned up that day.

That was 35 years ago and I'm still just a little bit bitter.

This was my holy grail when I was building models in the 70's/early 80's. Tom Daniel's Bad Medicine https://www.amazon.com/Tom-Daniels-Medicine-Custom-Revell/dp/B00643MA7I.

I saw it in a department store in Florida and my mom wouldn't buy it for me. I told I had NEVER seen it. I saw it built twice after that, one at the school my mom worked at in a glass case, the other at a friend's house in Virginia. Never saw it again during my childhood. About 10 years ago I was doing an internet search and found that they were reissuing them. I could have bought one for around $15 online, but never did. I went to the local hobby store about two years ago....and there it was for $20. I bought it but may never build it.

One model I wish I still had was EVIL IRON, a really cool trike model. I think the instructions alone go for $40 on ebay.

I've also been know to bid on The Shrunken Head kit from time to time https://www.pinterest.com/pin/424323596113769169/
