SCIENTIFIC NAME - Dendrochirus zebra

COMMON NAME - Zebra Lionfish (Dwarf Lionfish)

SIZE - 7.1" ( 18 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 30 US Gal. ( 114 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Meaty foods, marine fish, crustacean flesh, live Grass shrimp, feeder fish, marine fare live and frozen for carnivores. Feed 3-4 times a week.

REEF COMPATIBILITY - Will eat shrimp and smaller fishes.

CAPTIVE CARE - This fish is venomous and care should be exercised in handling. Plenty of hiding places, caves are a must with this fish. Some specimens will refuse to eat. Keep with less aggressive tank mates, Larger specimens are aggressive toward con specifics. Not a threat to more active fish species, lower lighting levels a plus or a deep reef system are preferred. Venomous spines beware.

My fuzzy dwarf lionfish was very personable. It would spit water at me to let me know I had to feed him. These guys are pretty easy to wean onto frozen. :)
