zinc and tin always high, im done looking and spending money

2 years looking for the source of zinc and tin.. its always going to be there so F -it.thats it im done.

fyi i do monthly icp tests and my rodi water is not the source.. i will replay tryed it if you provide advice. hopefully someone recommends something i have not tried.

How high?

Tin seems to sometimes come from plastics, such as tubing. It is added as a stabilizer.

Zinc comes from many things, including metal parts that are treated with zinc to reduce corrosion.

Well, zinc is required at some concentration and toxic at higher levels. High enough will kill many organisms, but I don't know that it gets that high in most situations.

Tin is not a needed metal, but often arises and can get to toxic levels in the worst cases. it is very hard to judge tin toxicity since concentration is only a part of the story. Chemical form is an especially big issue with it, IMO, and none of use have the tools to determine that.

zinc has been as high as 63. there is always a red arrow on my icp test print outs

Neither seem as high as folks who actually report problems, so I would not get too worried about them as long as they do not rise further. Tin is more of a concern than the zinc, IMO.

I wo0uld double check for and metal parts in or above the water, such as hose clamps.

yeah. i removed any and all metal above my water in the display and sump . i can say with 100% confidence there is none. i do have plastic egg crate in my sump and frag tank could that be a maybe?

Probably zinc in something that you are feeding or dosing.

Tin can come from plastics on cheap pumps (usually knock offs), buckets, plumbing, etc. The egg crate could be a cheap plastic that has some tin.
