Any one else ever have a colony of zoas melt for seemingly no reason, and then suddenly com back to life? This just happened to me with my eye of ra zoas. Suddenly they clammed up one day and started to melt. After just about righting them of as done for I noticed a tiny new opened polyp.

This guy here went from my best growing zoa colony to pretty much dead, and is now back to putting out new polyps like it’s no big deal.

Yes. My Purple Hornets went from 3p to about 25p. Then, out of nowhere, they completely melted away.

A few weeks later I noticed some tiny polyps popping up on the same rock, about 2" away from where the original colony was. Now they're back up to 8-9p.

Personally have not seen it with zoa that have been in the tank for some time but 100% see it happening

I have had it where I added a frag with around 9 heads the zoa didn't open for 2-3 weeks and heads were melting away, finally opened with 3 heads a month later I was back to 10 heads again.
