Hi guys, please I'm having issues with my Zoas. I have 4 different colonies of Zoas and the biggest colony just went to sleep and haven't opened up in over 5days now. I tried luring it with food, some of them opened up but just a few. This only seem to be on the one colony Zoas. I cant see any sign of any past on it and all the other guys seem to be doing good. Is there any suggestion that can help? Thanks.

Remove any algae growth on the polyps or that make contact with them. Change their location in your tank. Trial and error with water flow and light to see which works better. Give them time,
they are resilient.

Thanks...I changed the direction of my wave maker. I'l see if that works, cos I had cleaned up my equipment. Maybe I pointed it in the wrong direction.

How long have you had the zoas? Pictures might help?
I've had them for over 4 months. This picture is what they looked like before they closed up.as soon as I get home I'll take a picture with them closed . Hopefully I won't have to they'll be opened up. It's the red colony on the far left.

I had some problems and had to change the direction of one of my wave makers so it wasn't hitting them directly. They opened right up.

That's what I did this morning before I left for work... hopefully by the time I get back from work, that issue would be fixed.

So here's my zoa garden. This colony still not opening everyone else around it seem to be fine. I've reduced my flow and still not working. Are they sick? What can I do to treat them?

more flow,,lowering your flow probably did more harm than good,,less flow leaves detritus build up and you get secondary issues,,the secondary usually do the zoas in..,
by chance are these wild vietnam zoas ?
