Zoa polyp faded.

I've noticed that my zoas, every now
and then will have a single polyp or sometimes just a few fade or look washed out while the surrounding ones appear normal. I'm not sure if it's due to something physically irritating them like a hermit crab or if there’s another underlying issue. Has anyone else experienced something similar? ICP test came back normal except for high idione levels.

I’ve had them for about 3 months now. Started from a 2-3 polyp frag that looked normal but with time a few have faded. Ive had this happen a couple of times with other colonies.

Do they stay faded or brighten back up the next day?

I have no clue if they are going from bright and colorful to faded and staying faded.

It's the same zoa that whas close "some times ago" ?
Did you dip ? Brush them ?

In 2-3 week they should color up again.

They are going from bright and colorful to dull and faded, unfortunately they do not color back up after but new polyps grow normal. Its honestly frustrating but intriguing at the same time. Any thoughts?

All accounts I've read of "fading" seems to be related to too much light. You might check with a par meter if you have one, or lower light intensity 10% (as it seems they are quite colorful now, a small change might make a difference?!)

Thanks for the input, I'll check my Par once I get a hold of one. Ive blasted zoas with light and they usually just get brighter in color so I don't know why this is happening now.

These are a different colony, never dipped them or brush them. I really hope they regain their color.
