Hey guys, great article and feed. Figured i would share my experience. I find with all my zoas and palys that light is not super important. But none seem to like much flow. A low to low/ moderate flow and they do fine pretty much any height. I feed 2 tiny scoops of brs reef chilli every 3 nights or so ;). Lights are led t5 combo. Set on a ramp max power is 75 actinic 60 white for bout 3 hours. Roughly 12 hour cycle. (Including moonlight). I also broadcast feed every other day... or so ;). Ill do my best to identify.

On a timer- 3 moonlight LEDs that come with the JBJ Trinity 4x39w T5 8:30am-9:15am(wake them up) & 7pm-8:30pm(put them to bed)
On a timer- ATI B+ & B+ 9AM-7:30PM
Manual- ATI B+, C+, B+, TRUE ACTINIC(MAJOR KEY TO THE SUCCESS) 9:15AM-11:15AM & 4PM-6PM
Peak photosynthesis is at 10am & 5pm for zooxanthellae. That's when I run all 4 lights.
A half the recommended dose of Reefroids 2x a week at the 5pm peak hour.
0-3 the most nitrates at the end of week. I care to much about my fish. Average weekly is 2 nitrates before water change.
December pic with a 2x24w B+ & C+ for proof.
The fire and ice I fragged on to two others. Had 3 now 7. The other had 5 now 2.. Lost 3 due to it being my fault. Got a drop of glue on the 3 polyps..

So glad I found this article, although I’m months behind. I have had my tank for 6 months and I’m finally ready to start corals. I am starting by creating a Zoa garden. I have a 20”L x 6”W section in front of my tank and in front of my live rock. Flow is low/moderate in the area. I have always wanted to do a Zoa garden since I started researching getting into the hobby. There is a local hobbyist near me that I’ve been in contact with and hopefully within a week or two I will have my first Zoas. Right now I’m hoping to get Capt. America’s, Rastas, Bam Bams, Nightmares, Utter Chaos, Armor if God, Fire and Ice and purple monsters. I plan on getting 1-2 polyps of each and starting them on a plug and frag rack. Instead of doing the rock garden, I found reef tiles that I am going to try out. Hopefully this post will get some people back into the discussion so I can get even more info, tips and tricks. Great article.

@RyanC , I have found it very hard to cut zoas off when they are attached directly to the plug. It's so much better for you, and the zoas, if you glue the zoas on a rock chip and attach that chip to the plug. That way you can just pop the chip off the plug at a later date, with no harm to the zoas.

Awesome idea, thank you
