Guess I could call it my poor innocent virgin self as well but I think the idea is gotten.

I have been talking of a reef tank build for longer I can remember. And I am always so slow to do anything about starting.

I was cruising fakebook marketplace and a tank popped up. 75 gallon. Couple filters. Hood. $75.

Called me crackhead and asked if it held water. He said said. I said I’ll be there, fill it up so I can see it please.

It held water. The filters are 2 Marineland 400’s. 2 75 watt heaters. Light (which I won’t be using) and a stand. No doors but I’m okay with that. Let’s me show of my imaginary carpentry skills.

Luckily,, the wife will let me know if they look absolutely horrendous before I post pics of them.

Here’s a few fairly crappy pics from the day I brought this bad boy home. There’s other stuff that came along as well, but all freshwater stuff.

I really do not know what I am doing. And while doing these posts, I really hope you can all read typo very well.

Ya see, I’m trying to be very careful right now cause I’m that awkward new guy. But as soon as I’m comfortable some words will start to look like “ibvftjvf” cause I just do not take the time to proofread before hitting post reply. That’s where the Ed part comes in.

Wife always says I’m special. Then calls me Ed. So it’s just kinda turned into a nickname.

The me so slow is cause I am painstakingly slow at doing stuff because I really want to do it right. I don’t mind doing stuff again, but it is usually due to $$$ restraints at the time I do it. Down the road I’ll afford something better. And I got an old rap song in my head...

Today I picked up 51 pounds of dry rock. Not enough for the tank but some pretty cool pieces that I believe will make a great aquascape. If I believe it, must be true right!? Don’t ask the wife please. She will probably quip that it’s only 40 pounds or some such nonsense.

A few pictures of the rock. If anything jumps out at you, say something about it. Good or bad. Going to start laying this out over the next week or 2 and will probably have some good and maybe some what the heck questions.

Wife just prettied the tank up cause I volunteered to do dinner... I got the better end of the deal on time and satisfaction. Guess I can start to play with some aquascaping. I’ll post some pics of ones we like. Probably here and aquascaping forum.

Ignore the film on the back. It’s not staying. Going to paint it black.

First try. I really like the right side in the first pic. The left side I am not liking to much. I like the shelf’s and the swim through. But it doesn’t grab me. Last couple pics are from the sides.

Muh pictures got all scrambled.

Edit:
3rd is first.
1st is right side.
2nd is left side.
4th and 5th are fin the sides. Right first.

Grrrr. Can’t leave it alone.

I’m that much closer though I think as I may like this at the moment.

May have to find a LFS that sells live rock and will let me choose.

I have liked the right, from the get go. The left though...

I think I like this best, but it’s missing something. Just not quite sure what....

I was mistakenly thinking that corals came before fish in the tank.

Since being told fish is the better first add I’m really thinking about 2 of these guys being put in first.

Before you write them off you'll first have to see how good you are at growing Coral.

They can grow on the back glass you know. That's usually a good place for them.

For the clownfish they are actually territorial and do best added middle to last. Lots of people add them first anyway though.

Then just “peel” them off as they try to spread beyond?

Gsp is nice to look at but be careful as it can take over your tank. Completely up to what you like and don’t like.
That’s what I have been reading.

Kinda sucks. The fish I like the most don’t really like anything else and the corals I like a lot either kill a tank if something goes wrong or overtake everything. lol.

I can’t leave ish alone. Lol

I rearranged a little, and used some jb weld water to reinforce the left side.

I absolutely love it now.
