What model LifeReef skimmer is it you're using?
I have the 30". Love it.
And speaking of size, this sump is a monster at 50" x 22' x 20"h. :)
A bit bigger than his normal builds.

:waaaht::waaaht::waaaht::waaaht:

OMG!
This is really neat! I am so jealous of your fish room and tank build!
haha, thanks. :)

I've been scouting Life Reef systems for over a decade. Hopefully I can make the wife fall in love with the 60gal SPS so much that she will eventually cave to the in-wall 200+ one of these days! My jealous factor just peaked with this build!
OK, since us reefers need to stick together AND prod one another to go bigger :D here's what you need to do. Listen close. :ear:
Take your wife to the LFS a lot. In between trips to the shoe stores. I recommend DSW for that. Anyway... point out all the really pretty tangs and other fish that you secretly know would be too big for your tank. When she says to get that one, you say, "Sorry honey, my tank is much too small for that one. But how about this blue/green Chromis?"
Eventually she'll ask you how big of a tank you need. You're on your own from there, brother.

Haha! Great advice, bro!

Subbed! Don't know how I missed this. Glad to hear about everything you are doing, and couldn't agree more with your opinions throughout.

1) Only LED's in the ceiling. Yeah... been there, done that, and will never fully rely on LED's again (just my personal experience).
2) Tampa Bay Rock - the bennies totally outweigh the hitchers.
3) Fishroom! YES!!!
4) Not having a vehicle large enough for sheetrock. SAVE the planet! (LOL)
5) Lifereef skimmers are fantastic! Especially now that we have DC pumps available to us.

Lookin' great, man! Happy for you!

Got my Hamilton Cebu Sun (24") for the frag tank.
Big thanks to Dave at Hamilton for his help!
Blacked out the back and sides of the frag tank with black vinyl.
I have the 60" Cebu over the display so now they are matched up.

And I also hung up my old grow light fixture for the mangrove tank which has a 200w CFL bulb in it.
The mangrove tank has been ordered from Glass Cages and should be on a truck to Houston in early January.

My sump and refugium are complete and should ship this week! :)

Man that setup is sweet! Funny I also got all my lighting from Dave at Hamilton.
haha, awesome. Dave is great. :)

New IP camera installed!
Well, kinda. I still have to mount it on the wall. :)

Out with the Dropcam Pro, and in with the Foscam F19826P.
Look at the difference in clarity/resolution.
The dropcam is too wide for me so I'm going to move it to the fish room which really needs a wide angle.
The foscam is not as wide and it has optical zoom, whereas the dropcam has digital zoom and is zoomed in around 50% all the time.

Really?!
I was going for that minimalistic look. With the water, too. ;)

Well I like it!
Two large 18" colonies of JD in there with a few Peppermints and Bandits Angels.
Oh and one cleaner shrimp with two snails of your choice..............timeless.

LOL, yeah things are doing surprisingly well.
The only flow is from the return pump and one MP40.
The skimmer and heaters are in the tub, no sump or any other body of water.
And I finally got around to testing nitrate and phosphate. I was almost afraid to check.
Nitrate was pretty much immeasurable and p04 was around .04

You must do something right.
Glad to see everything is going smooth.
Hoping to see ya Saturday at the annual DCRP (Diesels Christmas Reef Party.)

So you have obviously been tending to it. Weekly water changes? What have you been dosing? And one important question.... What will you do with any accidental frags?

Geez your set up is crazy, from the first time I saw the set up in the other forum. I've used a few things you did as inspiration to my build.

sweetest fish room ever. Very clean looking. Seems like you made lots of improvements over the prior setup. Good work man.
