Elos 160 - First Build

Last update for tonight,
I decided to replace my Ecotech Vectra M1 with a Red Dragon DC 100W.
I think this may be a bit more reliable in the long run.

I was getting around 275 GPH with my Vectra at 80% (using about 75watts)
With the RD I am getting around 325 GPH at 70% (same wattage)
The Elos has a very small restrictive return and causes much head pressure. Pump also provides flow to ARID and small reactors.

I may one day tweak the plumbing to eliminate points which could allow me to run pump a bit lower but for now it is doing the job.
I am happy with 300-350 GPH turnover through sump.

The RD controller is much larger, so I still have to clean up the power cable connected to it.

You can see ARID still doing its thing.

Are you still dosing flatworm stop? If so, how often and how much? I am thinking of starting to help with the growth of my corals

I do still dose FW stop at 5ml/day
I have it on a doser and I shake it every few days. I have heard folks say thay it works for them but negative results when they suddenly stop. Keep that in mind if you stop, perhaps slowly ween it off.

I havent been on forums much and have really not shown much love to my build thread. Just recently started updating my Instagram Zaffor_reef so I figured I should also update here as well.

tank went through some dips during the whole covid time but has since been recovering well. Completely remodeled the whole sump and electronics cabinet. Added a frag tank. Switched to Neptune Sky lights and removed T5 lights ( installed a radion G5 XR15 Blue for frag tank)

Custom ATO and dosing containers from advanced acrylics (John)
Custom equipment display from Adaptive reef. (1945 )
Custom sump from royal exclusiv (thanks to @slief for the help)

very happy with all the new gear and with the royal exclusiv auto filter roll. VERY ROBUST!!!

rewired everything to make it easier to swap out or upgrade (live and learn here). Mounted all my transformers on a panel behind custom display using 3D printed brackets.

switched skimmer to Royal Exclusiv matching the custom sump.

Nice work Henry! I’m glad you reported into your beautiful tank build here at R2R! After all, this is a true reef aquarium community. Instagram is broad but not as many dedicated hobbyist. And, I don’t have Instagram anyhow, and I like to see your reef!
