This is the Ultimate centerpiece people!!!! I picked this guy up from Chicago and that was a 12 hour drive in a cooler with no problems so if anyone is interested but is worried about transport, I wouldn't worry too much as long as the cooler is big enough to fit the clam with it's mantle closed......which is only about 18" wide.

Im in the process of putting my plans together for a new tank but it won't be ready anytime soon. What are the dimensions of the the mantle from one end to the other?

The reason I offered the OP to donate it, is that it would be going to a forever home. Not just a temporary bigger tank. Since these clams are so hard to get now, that is why I offered. If there are other people with gigas who may be interested in donating don't hesitate to message.

Lol Well seeing as how that tank is no where near the OP and shipping a clam of that size would cost a few hundred, I doubt the OP will be willing to donate. (plus the whole asking price of $3000)

Yeah, it would be best to fill a swimming pool with saltwater and keep him in there.

Not here to argue....

But aquariums travel plenty to get big animals. I realized it was a longshot when proposing it, but I would expect people to care more about the long term care of the animal and not the $ amount.
