Good day All,
I've been reefing for about 3 years. I've only had nano tanks and started with 20 Gal IM, quickly realized I wanted the foot print of a 25 Gal IM Lagoon. I was happy until I got a crazy black Friday deal on 10 Gal WB with plans to do a simple rock flower and BTA tank. I started this addiction... ummm errr Hobby, because of I had a supervisor had a office nano tank and I loved the "reef therapy" mentality. He would stress me out but his tank would relieve that same stress. In my eyes it was a good work balance.

I've learned mixing my own water vs buying LFS water (not all shops are like this) is better and I know what I'm getting. I've been through near crashes, Green Hair Algae explosions, I refuse to buy another Green Clown Goby ( I have put two on different occasions into my tank, both times they disappear to never be seen again), Husbandry and patients are key.

Through out my time reefing (I know 3 years is short) I've managed to make it through 2 Hurricanes (lost power both times for more than a week), My last 2 years of active duty with times of not seeing the tank for extended periods (thank god for friends), a move from south Louisiana to Phoenix ( Live stock was given to a close friend before I left, while MOST of the corals made it) . Once I landed in AZ, I set up the 10 Gal WB with the mostly softies and a few LPS that made the move, small CUC and single weirdo Black Phantom Clown (Pedro) for the time being with dreams to upgrade to a 3ft tank in the near future.

10 Gal WB
Colbalt Neo Therm 50 W
Colbalt Mini MJ 606 pump
In tank media basket, filter floss and Chemi pure
Ai Prime 16
Ai Nero 3
XP Aqua Duetto ATO

R,

Jason

Welcome! Glad you joined.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID). You have enough info already here, you could just copy and paste into Forum Member Aquariums and then link that future new thread to your account.

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
