I know for me, there are all sorts of fish I would love to have in my tank, but I don't for various reasons. One thing that has always been interesting to me is seeing fish that could be considered "expensive", and seeing how they compare to a cheaper fish. I am wondering, what fish that are "expensive" would you say are worth owning? Curious to see what everyone says!

i cant think

All saltwater fish are expensive imo. Everyone has been in a fish store when the freshwater people have said I can’t do saltwater those saltwater fish are so expensive.

My first saltwater tank was 06-07. I think the cheapest fish I had back then was a green clown goby which was like 13.99.

I guess its all relative. But we already spend alot on just upkeep. Get what you want I say. Paid 15 bucks for my court jester goby last year and I love him. Paid $150 for a yellow eye cole tang I lost in 4 days…

I suppose my Foxy is expensive relatively speaking. Paid $99 at PetCo. It it quite large so it’s not like I got ripped off. My next “expensive one is my Blue Star wrasse

It seems like just a few years ago if I saw a fish for sale over 200$ I was like whoa! Now it’s getting to be the norm it feels like. Having said all that for me definitely large angels in particular my pair of blue line angels were definitely worth the $$. Great combination of looks and personality and also very hardy!

Over the years I've had harlequin tusks, emperor Angels and clown trigger fish that I thought were most beautiful. I wouldn't mind the price if you could guarantee they would live for years and years, but sadly.....
