I have no luck with sunburst. They been very shy and don’t live long , stress? I hav a female Wattanabe. Got one about the size of a quarter for $50 3-4 years ago. Now around 4” long. Great fish.

Yours is a male with the stripes. Mine is solid blue on her body.

Those are Google images. Actual photos on old phone in an unknown closet or box. Mine was female also, powder blue no stripes

I plan on ordering two Bellus Angels in about a month.
Very reef safe angels.
I saw a pair a couple of weeks ago and they were 1k here. So i ended up getting a pair of Genicanthus melanospilos. Gorgeous fish but it took 3 weeks for them to come out of their cave.

If you have the room, recommended a minimum of a 7 foot tank because they do get really large (18 inches). Pictured is my Blonde Naso, he is about 11inches w/ streamers in this picture. A true gentle giant, and extremely personable. George loves to "cruise the glass" when I am near my tank, he always comes up to say "Hi". Eats Nori out of my hand and will bump my hand when I am adding flake food to the tank, sometimes nibbling flake right out of my fingers. I named him King George Augustus, after King George the 2nd of England.

Peppermint Angelfish, but even if I won a Lottery, doubt I’d be able to get my hands on one. Maybe someone will Breed them.

I know for me, there are all sorts of fish I would love to have in my tank, but I don't for various reasons. One thing that has always been interesting to me is seeing fish that could be considered "expensive", and seeing how they compare to a cheaper fish. I am wondering, what fish that are "expensive" would you say are worth owning? Curious to see what everyone says!
White tail tang is my favorite. Spent $300 for him. Not he most expensive but definitely up there. Worth every penny for him.

Not for $30,000. I rather have 300 Flame angel at 100.00 a pop.

It would just be hard for me to spend that kind of money on a fish when anything could happen to it and I loose it.

I had an achillies, waited for a while to catch them on sale for $200 + another 100 for shipping. QT'd him for 2 weeks in copper... 2 weeks later he still got ich. Went back in QT with all the other fish for 2 more weeks. Then in an observation tank for about 3 weeks when I found him and 5 other fish dead, overnight. but yeah that was my most expensive fish that I wanted so bad, but will NEVER have another.

I think this extends beyond the cost of the fish :)
Anything you need like a 200 gallon tank for is "expensive" in my mind :D
It's a $200 fish, but I needed a $2k tank for it :D

I got very lucky, I found my 8ft 300g tank on Craigslist used for $600. This was about 10 yrs ago.
