I was thinking about building my stand 40inches tall. Need a ladder to clean the tank lol. I love not having to bend over to look at the tank. You have done a mazing job on that tank.

I agree, I love the height of this tank. Being 5'2" it's perfect! And if I forget to close one of the canopy doors I don't hit my head on it lol! I clear the bottom of the door at about 2". With Glenn being 6' tall it's still a better height even for him. Cleaning it isn't really as bad as I thought with a 3' step ladder and tongs (which i need anyway due to the depth of the tank) and other long handled tools
Another thing I love is the crown molding! Since it sticks up higher than the canopy box I can hide my spare T5 bulbs in a safe way

I've been under the weather a lot lately and with Christmas so close I have been super busy with things other than the stand and canopy. I haven't finished the prime coat and still have the paint yet to do. I have family arriving for the week of Christmas on Monday so it's crunch time! I'm doing the rest of the prime coat today and hopefully get it painted as well. At least all the white will be done. Then I'm off to finish Christmas decorations and house cleaning. Monday i begin baking cookies then some deserts on Tuesday. Wednesday we go pick up my daughters fiance from the airport. He's in the Army and is one of the lucky ones to get leave. She hasn't seen him in a year so it'll be a BIG day

Got the whole thing prime coated... took 9 hours! A light sanding then paint. Too late tonight and will be shopping and a wc tomorrow so i might paint it on friday.
My acros are doing fantastic. All coming back and growing. The blueberry fields acro is 99% recovered and has a ton of new branch nubs coming out. The german blue branching monti from Chris is beautiful! Pics in a sec...

One of my palys that shrunk is now dbl size
Red monticap is red again
My green cap that was almost all white is yellow green and returning
This is what i think happened... i attempted to switch to rs salt and did 50/50 mix with rc salt. Everything dropped! Potassium read 290, no iron detected, very low iodide, mg 1240, ca 360.... all too low. So rather than do another wc i dosed the tank all it needed then did another all rc wc. So I'm sticking with rc.
Lol now i wish i had some acro money

Glad to see you are getting somewhere with the corals. Mine are all colonizing and going and going. Maybe it was the beer I spilt in the tank lol just kidding.

Thanks Joe! I am so excited that the SPS are doing great (FINALLY!) and I am loving the whole set up over all
Now I just need acro money lol!This stand and canopy were a HUGE project and honestly I am glad it's over (other than the final coat of paint). I think if you do yours you'll find it pretty gratifying
