Wee bit of an update to update you on. Since I was plagued with Cyano in my old tank, and the rocks that transitioned across had some on them, we decided to treat the tank with Chemiclean. when your nitrates and phosphates test within respectable levels, and you still get this crap, you gotta call an audible. I started the treatment sunday evening at 9pm. water change has been planned for 9pm tonight. yesterday evening I could already tell the difference.

updates to follow.

RE purposed my old water container. It used to sit on the floor and used an aqua lifter to pump into the old sump. I was tired of having to pump water out plus it needed a good cleaning.

used wood I had and re-purposed parts. Had to buy two fittings. Cost me $1.50

I made a mind map of my Reefkeeper controller. Way more simple than my old setup. Loving it. Best part of the new tank. Without the heaters, I use less than 4 amps with everything else on. My heater draws 4 amps. its a bit oversized.

WOW, with everything on except the heater, my system uses 2.3 amps. thats just 276 watts! holy cow. calculates out to about $7 a month in electrical operation costs. 2.3 amps is less than my old barracuda Pump used. LOL.

had a little Furry issue with my tank as of late. One of our kitties has taken a liking to sitting on the ledge and watching the fish. all well and good, but he has also been dipping his paws in the water too which is not good. He leaves water streaks and bits of wet fur on the glass and we cannot have that.

so I made a very simple screen lid. this will help keep him out and also any suicidal fish in.

Also, a nice shot of the orange plate with just the actinics on. I had to do some cleanup on the photo as I took it with my phone.

I LOOOVE the dimensions of that tank man, my wife already knows when we move into our new place I'm upgrading my tank from my current RSM130D to a nice big rimless cube... I just love the way rimless cube tanks look
I want mine to have an island overflow and be viewable from all 4 sides though 36x36x36 is the dimensions I have planned
