9 inch height sounds perfect for the work desktop tank I’ve always wanted!

Is it crazy to laser etch a logo or other design into acrylic before assembling? I’m thinking superficial, less than 1 mm deep etching. I could instead do this just on the AIO divider if it would compromise strength substantially.

Agree, full lid with light mount cutout and feeding cup sounds ideal.
We will try a laser etch. If you read the thread on the last diy you will see how we had the laser powered up a bit too hichg and it burned pinholes into the sump. Could not see them but we had leaks. Had to send out patch kits. Not this time. We will get it right.

Oh hah I had no idea about last time. You guys do some cool stuff! I was thinking someone at my company could add some embellishment before I assemble

Ok so what I see right now for ideal build..
9" height, shelf for filter floss, hole drilled to fit fluval nozzle kit, i like slotted lid. I'd prefer 3 rear chambers.

How much flow can it handle?

I don't want to ask for too much, but getting usable flow out of the return instead of just a small trickle would be awesome.

This won't be a problem if our other nano frags are references glad asked though. Something else we offer (but do not advertise) are our micro weir overflows. These are OFs with slots much narrower than typical. Keeps all your little guys nice and safe. No one else has this. Even with the narrow slots water flow is at least 80 % since there are more slots. See below. Maybe the next diy or if there is a huge interest in this one.

9” & vented full coverage lid w. feeding cup would be ideal, if we can incorporate a light cutout.

All good. Wanna see the sketches? See below. Also going to go with the polycarbonate lid maybe a black bottom as per first thoughts

Suggestions taken from other AIO / Desk size tanks:
AIO back wall is shorter than sides.
BAFFLE 1 - Media wall
Without tabs for adjustable media area.
Height short of bottom or with a foot or two for flow under divider.
Shorter than AIO back wall. Both AIO and media top lower for over flow if something gets clogged.
BAFFLE 2 - Pump wall
1" short than media as you noted.

Etching I'd go only have TENECOR R2R since we know this is a DIY tank.

Yep, that's it right there, case closed. Idea though. What if the lid spanned the entire top even over chambers 1 and 3 but the whole middle chamber was cutout for lights, cords and such? Maybe a small notch over #3 for a pump cord?

First draft of the kit is below. We want to do the caddy but it is a pico and the caddy is small. Options are 1) leave it alone, it's a pico, 2) make chamber one wider. Then you run into interference with the baffle where the light would clip onto the rear wall. 3) make the filter walls, baffles and caddy from 1/8 inch. Harder to set up and weld. And it is not something we would like to put our name on. We are leaning into option 1).

notice the logo will be INSIDE the filter wall, above the return hole. One feature not shown yet will be a cord/tubing passthrough cut out in the pump chamber area at the top of the filter wall.

In such a small tank I'd like to limit evaporation can we pic our lid style?
